Fly on the Wall Press acquires English translation rights for Erased by Miha Mazzini

Updated: Oct 2, 2025

Fly on the Wall Press is delighted to announce the acquisition of the English translation rights for Erased (Izbrisana) by acclaimed Slovenian author Miha Mazzini, translated by Gregor Timothy Čeh. Rights were acquired by Isabelle Kenyon, Managing Director of Fly on the Wall, from Manca Masnik at Goga Publishing.

Already translated and published in ten countries, including Italy and Germany, Erased is both a bestselling novel and the basis of an award-winning feature film. This English edition will publish on 24 March 2026 (ISBN: 9781915789600, £12.99, 270pp, paperback original).

“I was drawn to this narrative for its universal themes. Despite being set in 1990s Slovenia, the question—what would you do if you woke up one morning to find that you and your newborn baby had been erased from state records, that you simply did not exist?—is one that resonates with readers everywhere. I’m thrilled to be publishing such an established author and translator at Fly on the Wall Press, and Erased is exactly the kind of political thriller we are passionate about championing.” — Isabelle Kenyon, Publisher, Fly on the Wall Press

About the book

She Doesn’t Exist. Neither Does Her Baby. Now What?

When a “software error” erases Zala from the system, she discovers that officially, she and her newborn child do not exist. As she desperately fights to prove her existence and protect her baby from adoption, Zala uncovers the Kafkaesque nightmare of Slovenia’s bureaucracy, one that erased 25,671 citizens on February 26, 1992.

Part political thriller, part devastating portrait of systemic violence, Erased is a chilling exploration of how state power can obliterate lives, and of one mother’s relentless struggle for survival.

Praise for Erased “Intoxicating, passionate writing.” — Igor Bratož, Delo newspaper “Vehemently written.” — Gabriela Babnik, Pogledi

Doing proper research can save both time and money. I’ve found that free mobile home removal services can be incredibly helpful, especially when companies are willing to salvage materials or recycle parts, making the process environmentally friendly and financially easier.
