Built to make publishing accessible beyond London.
'The steps are wonderfully structured, there were many useful things in the texts for me, especially the part related to rights. Sales were also interesting for me, the publishing section that differs the most from what I have experienced in my country.' - Angela Pataki
'The publishing course is definitely one of the best around for anyone looking to kick start a career in publishing. Not only is it affordable but incredibly accessible - it's great to have the recorded material to go back on. I would say this is definitely the best course for those of us outside of London trying to get in. It's insightful and helpful!' - Kate Hillard

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the time commitment?
The course is designed to be entirely self-paced, to fit around any existing work commitments that you may have. You can interact with the discussion forums as and when you see fit, and if you can't make an industry talk, they will be recorded and circulated with you afterwards.
2. What age range is this suitable for?
There are no actual age restrictions - whether you have just finished education, or you are more of a career changer, you'll find similar-minded individuals in the academy.
3. Should I do the Academy or a Publishing degree?
The Academy is designed to be complementary to higher education - indeed, we have been endorsed by universities across the country already! We teach practical, actionable skills to get you a role within publishing.
4. I am a writer, is the Academy suitable for me?
We do have writers currently in the Academy! What we would say is that the core aim of the Academy is to train students and make them an asset to publishing companies - giving them experience and knowledge which is often inaccessible. As a writer, you will learn about how the publishing industry works, and this will make you a more savvy candidate when sending your work out. We also have our Getting Published Course for writers - you can find out more about that avenue here!

Five stars from the Society of Young Publishers for our industry talk series!
'I enjoyed learning about an area of the industry that not many people think about, and how different departments come together to get books on the shelves.'
