The Aryamati Prize for Poetry, a UK poetry prize open internationally and established in honour of Cambridge graduate Olga Kenyon, seeks to reward poets who write for social change and peace. In its fifth year, the prize will open from 28th June to 28th August 2023, midnight GMT. Past winners of the prize have included Pippa Little, Jenny Mitchell, Sundra Lawrence, and Katrina Dybzynska.
This year, the prize has added a new category to its competition, in which it will award a full collection winner and a pamphlet winner. The winner of the pamphlet category will be published in pamphlet form alongside the full collection winner.
One of the past winners of the prize, Katrina Dybzynska, will launch her debut poetry chapbook, "Secrets of the Dictator's Wife," on Zoom, on Tuesday, April 25th, at 7:30 pm BST. The launch event will be hosted by Fly on the Wall Press and will feature poetry performances, a discussion, and a Q&A session.
In "Secrets of the Dictator's Wife," Katrina Dybzynska paints a world of intrigue and mystery, where the lines between loyalty and betrayal are blurred, and the true nature of power is constantly called into question. The book is a stunning, lyrical work that offers a unique perspective on power and the human condition.
Dybzynska's book offers a glimpse into the life of the Dictator's Wife, who confides that her husband has blind spots, and any day now, he may be overthrown. Through the eyes of the Dictator's Wife, the reader is taken on a journey that explores the nature of power, love, and loyalty.
The launch of "Secrets of the Dictator's Wife" is a must-attend event for poetry lovers who are interested in exploring themes of power, betrayal, and social change. If you are unable to attend the event, make sure to get your copy of the book to experience the stunning poetry of Aryamati Prize winner Katrina Dybzynska.
