We are thrilled to announce the return of the Northern Publishers’ Fair for a second edition this year, taking place during the opening weekend of the Manchester Literature Festival. This special Performance Edition will be held at the iconic Manchester Central Library on 5th October from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM, featuring ten of the best northern publishers and their authors.
This event brings together the best of northern literature, showcasing a diverse array of authors from award-winning independent publishers such as Carcanet and the northern British Book Award Small Press of the Year 2024, Fly on the Wall Press. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear live readings from authors such as Laura Fish and Tawseef Khan, grab limited-edition goodie bags, engage in discussions with industry professionals, and discover new and exciting books from the region.
Whether you're a seasoned book lover or new to the literary scene, the Northern Publishers' Fair offers something for everyone. The event is free to attend, .
Publishers in attendance will include Fly on the Wall Press, Salt Publishing, Commonword, Carcanet Press, Bluemoose Books, Northodox Press, Comma Press, UCLAN Publishing, Flapjack Press and Saraband Books.
Attendees are welcome to drop in at any time. So come along, browse books, network and enjoy a coffee, all under one roof at the Manchester Central Library Performance Space!
