Anne Walsh Donnelly: FOTW poetry superstar and now Poet Laureate!

On Monday, it was announced that Fly on the Wall's own Anne Walsh Donnelly is the new Poet Laureate for Belmullet, Co Mayo.

Anne becomes Poet Laureate as part of the Poetry Town Initiative, a new initiative that will see hundreds of engaging poetry activities rolled out across participating towns from 10-18 September of this year.

In her role as Poet Laureate, Anne will write a specially commissioned poem that reflects Belmullet and its locals and perform it during one of many flagship online events.

The efforts by Anne and the other Poet Laureates of Poetry Town will be joined by an array of musicians, artists, and local poets and businesses, resulting in a week of pure poetry goodness!
